In news that’s sure to make William Petersen feel just greeeaaatttt about his decision to leave CSI for a career in movies, his CSI replacement has just booked a big role in Zack Snyder‘s Man Of Steel. That’s right. Laurence Fishburne has signed on to play Clark Kent’s jerk boss, the Daily Planet editor Perry White. This casting is a departure from the Perry White we’re used to (previously played by John Hamilton, Jackie Cooper and Frank Langella), but it’s a good sign overall for Snyder’s production, showing that he’s not afraid to shake it up and reinvigorate the classic hero’s story. Also, Fishburne is great in these authoritative roles. I wouldn’t want him for my boss. Poor Jimmy Olsen.

Fishburne joins Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond Harry Lennix and Christopher Meloni, with shooting beginning in the fall. (Deadline)

    Saywhat

Two lines in a movie is now a big role? LOL. I’m sure that is news to Peterson and Zack Snyder. Hell, even Fishburne would laugh at that definition.

If my memory serves, Petersen left CSI to return to his first love, the theatre.
