Joseph Gordon-Levitt previously shot down rumors of his involvement with Edgar Wright's Ant-Man, which seemed odd at the time. Turns out, he had his eye on another comic book role. One that will make far less money. JGL has won the role of Dream in Warner Brothers' adaptation of Neil Gaiman's Sandman comics. He'll also step behind the camera, making this his sophomore directing effort.

Adapter of all things comic book, David Goyer, pitched the treatment that Warners are working from but the studio is still looking to bring on a writer to add all of the words and stuff to the script.

As much as I'm excited for Gordon-Levitt and look forward to seeing more of his directorial work, I can't help but feel for Sean Penn. Dude was robbed. (Deadline)
