I agree with peterrr, you can see bad cg, the good stuff you ignore. Sometimes we jokingly call them “regular effects” because they don’t seem like effects.

“CGI usually gives itself away…” You don’t know what you’re talking about. I’d be impressed if you can spot 10% of all the CGI used in any given film.
