Fans of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book (either the book or the animated film) might have mixed feelings about Jon Favreau stepping in to the feature adaptation of the novel, but that's probably only because they're reminded of Cowboys and Aliens, and not Iron Man or Elf. The film has been deemed a "priority project" for Disney, which means the studio thinks it will make slightly more money than the other films it has in the pipeline.

Favreau has recently been connected with Disney to direct Magic Kingdom, a film in which the Disney theme park comes alive.

The Jungle Book was adapted into a forgettable 1994 film directed by Stephen Sommers, but Disney would probably rather you forget that piece of information and just start cheering on the new film.
