John Travolta, a man who is well-known for his interest in aviation (among other things), has come forth to let the world know that he was asked to star in Flight, but just couldn't do it because the flying sequences were just too unrealistic.

While that might seem a little silly, when Travolta had told the screenwriter that the maneuvers in the movie weren't possible, the screenwriter responded with "I didn't want any interference - I just wanted the screenplay done. To hell with that stuff!"

So the role and Oscar nod went to Denzel Washington, but the comfort of knowing that he's right belongs to Mr. Travolta.
