A couple years ago, there was a torrent of Peter Pan films coming our way, almost all of which seemed to hang their hat on the "gritty reboot" concept. Today, we haven't heard much about these films, which means the films managed to scare one another off, or they just realized that Robin Williams was a great Peter Pan and can never be improved upon.

Nonetheless, one Peter Pan origin story remains, and has announced that it's casting Javier Bardem as Blackbeard, the pirate. The film will be directed by Joe Wright, and allegedly stay close to the source material, as Captain Hook served under the command of Blackbeard.

The film is supposed to be in Batman Begins vein, which is just a convoluted way of saying that it makes a ton of money.

Of course they do.
