James Cameron Decides To Direct Not ‘Avatar’ Movies

James Cameron announced to the New York Times that he’s retired from any non-Avatar filmmaking. Like several rappers before him, it was all bullshit. Consider today his unretirement from projects exclusive to the Avatar universe.

Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment have picked up the rights to The Informationist, a novel by Taylor Stevens that has drawn comparisons to Girl With The Dragon Tattoo as well as the Jason Bourne series.┬áCameron’s intention is to shoot it after Avatar 3 and before the Avatar prequel. The story follows a girl in central Africa raised by gunners and mercenaries, who goes into the business of selling information. Which I was always lead to believe is free. Just dial 4-1-1. If anything, it costs a few cents.
