Lest you thought that Jaden Smith was only going to act as father Will's Mini-Me, and was resigned to simply attending awards shows styled in clothes to within an inch of his life, rest assured: He will return to make a sequel to a remake no one asked for with the next installment of The Karate Kid.

And a sage Jackie Chan will play his aging Asian mentor.

Little else is known about the premise of the sequel, as the original remake (is that even a thing) had him go to China. I think an interesting direction to take things would to have Jaden's character get hassled by street thugs, but, then, instead of learning karate to put them in their place, he gets kidnapped by the thugs, and just is never seen again.

That would be worth $14.
