We generally like to stay away from box office earnings articles, if only because they're boring and pretty dmn insignificant, but we also like to report on things related to the Hunger Games films, no matter how boring and insignificant. After a heated editorial meeting that went until 3 AM last night, we decided to write a short article on the Catching Fire's financial performance.

It set records for the three-day and five-day Thanksgiving weekends. Whoop-di-do. Because the type of people who see films like Catching Fire are more likely to see it more than once in the theater, the durability of the film is higher than most. So it's on track for about $400 million in the US, and it's already got $276 million internationally. So, yeah, it's going to make a billion dollars.

Which seems pretty fair considering it's the greatest film ever made.
