Ian McKellen’s Website Hints at Role in ‘The Hobbit’

Monday, November 29 by

Ian McKellen owned the part of Gandalf in the original Lord of the Rings trilogy. But despite the fact that production for Peter Jackson’s two-part prequel, The Hobbit, is now under way, there has been no confirmation that the actor will reprise his iconic role. However, a recently updated page on McKellen’s official website seems to indicate that he will be appearing in the film.

Under McKellen’s filmography, The Hobbit is listed in the “2010’s section,” as is the role of Gandalf. Of course, any ass can post something on their personal website, so this is far from official. But considering the ass in question worked with Laurence Olivier, I think we can take it at face value. (The One Ring via CinemaBlend)
