Hugh Jackman is a realist. He knows he can't punch guys with knife fists forever. So, he's looking ahead to the fact that he's only got two or so more Wolverine appearances in him. In addition to X-Men: Days of Future Past, he believes he'll appear in a third Wolverine solo film after X-Men: Apocalypse. Although he's not sure what that will entail (besides knife-punching).

Jackman tells SFX:

So where do you want to take Logan next in Wolverine 3?

I don't know yet. We're talking it through. I still am very ambitious for the character. And tonally I feel like we corrected the ship with the last one. But I feel we can still go further, in a way. If I did another one I'm 99.9% sure it would be the last, so that will inform what it is for me.

The way I see it, they can should do Wolverine in Space and then the role will revert to its rightful owner: Glenn Danzig.
