UPDATED: Emma Stone To Star In ‘Pride And Prejudice And Zombies’

UPDATE: Deadline is now reporting that Emma Stone has passed on the role of Elizabeth Bennet. Maybe acting alongside zombies one time was enough.

Emma Stone has signed on to play Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Variety is reporting. The film, which is being produced in part by Natalie Portman, retells the classic Jane Austen novel, but with an added bonus of the zombie apocalypse being used as a backdrop.

Personally, I think this whole “zombie” thing has just about run its course. I enjoy the genre, but it’s hitting the point of over saturation. That said, you could record a video of Emma Stone setting all of my friends and family on fire, and I’d probably still pay to see it. Does that mean I’m a bad person, or does it just mean Emma Stone is ridiculously hot? That’s not for you to decide. Only god can judge me. Word is bond.
