Harvey Weinstein Wants To Clean Up ‘The King’s Speech’

In order to convert the Oscar buzz surrounding The King’s Speech into sweet money money money, executive producer Harvey Weinstein wants to tone down the film’s profanity to bring the R rating down to a PG-13 or PG. Because if there’s one thing teenagers love, it’s historical British dramas.

“The British numbers are huge because the rating lets families see the movie together,” said Weinstein. “Tom and I are trying to find a unique way to do this that keeps his vision of the movie.”

But that still doesn’t deal with the issue of actually getting teenagers interested in seeing the film. I suggest Weinstein pays Lil Wayne to develop a stutter. (LA Times)
