As much as Family Guy has fallen out of favor with its biggest fans, simply because they grew up, those same folks have largely refused to give Seth MacFarlane's Dads a chance. However, because Seth Macfarlane's work currently comprises about 9% of Fox's entire weekly line-up, they're not so quick to kill Dads. In fact, the network showed a pretty big commitment by picking it up for a full season, rather than just a handful more episodes.

Also, it looks as though it's EXTREMELY cheap to make, and if you're going to lose to HBO and AMC on Sundays, you might as well do so spending as little money as possible.

I would make a bunch of jokes about how crass and low-brow the show is, but lots of other people have done that already, and I haven't seen the show.

But I've heard it's bad.
