FOX ‘Narrows Down’ Potential ‘Wolverine’ Directors To 8

Ever since Darren Aronofsky ditched The Wolverine, it’s only been a question of who will step up to take his place. And now, in a truly newsworthy development, we know exactly who it will be – one of these eight guys: Jose Padilha, Doug Liman (Mr. and Mrs. Smith), Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go), Justin Lin (Fast Five), Gavin O’Connor, James Mangold (Knight and Day) and Gary Shore.

It’s possible that all these names aren’t familiar to you. For one, Gary Shore is mostly a commercial director. The rest are directors of a blend of relatively anonymous action movies like Knight and Day, and art films like Never Let Me Go. It remains to be seen which direction FOX will go in – but no matter which way they go, it’ll probably be better than the first Wolverine movie. (Variety)

    Chet

Fox found eight directors who are either willing to spend 18 months taking orders from nitwit executives to produce another crappy movie… or naive enough to think that won’t happen to them.

    Amen, sir.
    Couldn’t agree more.

I saw that list and just instantly thought, “You think THESE guys could fill the Aronofsky hole? Good luck with that.”
