John Cusack won’t be the only one rocking nineteenth century facial hair. ABC has ordered the pilot “Poe.” The story would center around Edgar Allan Poe, writer by day, crime-solver by night. Using his cunning wile and unconventional methods to crack the toughest cases on the streets of 1840′s Boston. Also, he’ll spending a good amount of time trying to downplay any comparisons to ABC’s “Castle.”
“Kyle XY” writer Chris Hollier is in charge of scripting while casting remains in the works. I’m not sure which segment of ABC’s audience this will appeal to, the horny housewives or the gay men. Regardless, it’s likely that Washboard Absgar Allan Poe could be on our televisions this fall. After all new episodes of “Napoleon Bonaparte: Bomb Squad M.D.” (Deadline)
