After National Lampoon has made every attempt to sully the reputation of everything it had ever touched with crap like Dorm Daze and Pledge This! the remnants of the magazine's only lauded property, the Vacation series, are set to rise from the ashes with a reboot/sequel-y type of thing.

With Lampoon's track record, that would normally be cause for an audible groan, but the fact that Ed Helms is in talks to play Clark Griswold's grown son Rusty in the coming installments gives some hope to the project.

In case it's not clear, Rusty would be the focus and patriarch of the next installment, after almost 15 years since Chevy Chase regaled us with Vegas Vacation.

Is Randy Quaid going to reprise his role? I heard he's available!
