As he had been called upon to be the modern face of the National Lampoon Vacation films reboot, Ed Helms is once again being summoned to make something old accessible to teenage fans of nut-shots. The Hangover/The Office nerdy guy will take over the role of Frank Drebin in a reboot of The Naked Gun. Though I find Helms likable (when not singing), this is one he shouldn't touch. Nobody should touch. The Naked Gun is more than a classic. It's special and doesn't deserve to be mishandled.

Creators Jim Abrahams, David & Jerry Zucker are not involved with this reboot as Paramount has assigned scripting duties to Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant. Presumably because they are close friends with "Weird" Al Yankovic and the studio's best shot at getting him to agree to cameo once again. (Variety)
