Dispatches From A Slow News Day: Hot Girl Sells Script To James L. Brooks

Wednesday, March 30 by

A hot girl sold a script! Screenwriter Kelly Fremon is about to make the jump to director with James L. Brooks‘ Gracie Films acquisition of her script, Besties. The story follows two high school girls who are best friends until one dates the other’s older brother. Oh boy!

Part of the six-figure deal is that Fremon gets to bring her hot-girl sensibilities behind the camera, directing the film. It is expected that Brooks will mentor Fremon as a director, which means soon you can expect lots of films from her about aging, sassy lovers.

A deal of this size is rare for such a junior screenwriter, which is again a testament to Fremon’s hotness. This is a coup on par with hunks Ben Affleck and Matt Damon moving their Good Will Hunting script. Jonah Hill would never see this type of money for a script. (Deadline)
