Rooney Mara, Hollywood’s almost-It Girl (give it a month or two), is gearing up to star in director Francesca Gregorini’s upcoming film Emanuel And The Truth About Fishes. The film concerns a girl who’s new next door neighbor bears a striking resemblance to her dead mother. It will be the second time she has worked with Gregorini, having previously acted in the director’s 2009 feature Tanner Hall, which will be distributed by Anchor Bay soon.
Mara can currently be seen opposite Jesse Eisenberg in the Social Network, and in the upcoming David Fincher adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. With all this high profile work on the horizon, the actress is poised to become another in a slate of buzzed about actresses with unconventional, confusing names. Move over, Saorise Ronan!
