Cure Your Oscar Fever With A Healthy Dose Of Razzies

Sunday, February 27 by

Each year, the Razzie Awards celebrate the worst cinema of the year, as a kind of snarky counter-programming to the Oscars. Think of them as a kind of Puppy Bowl to the Oscars’ Super Bowl, if the Puppy Bowl were about mocking football players.

The big “winner” of 2010 is M. Night Shyamalan‘s The Last Airbender, which earned itself Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Screenplay and Worst Most Eye-Gouging Mis-Use Of 3D.

Here’s a complete list of the lucky winners:

WORST PICTUREThe Last Airbender

WORST DIRECTOR M. Night Shyamalan, The Last Airbender

WORST SUPPORTING ACTOR Jackson Rathbone, The Last Airbender

WORST SUPPORTING ACTRESS Jessica Alba, The Killer Inside Me, Little Fockers, Machete & Valentine’s Day

WORST ACTRESS (tie) Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis, Sex And The City 2

WORST ACTOR Ashton Kutcher, The Killers & Valentine’s Day

WORST SCREENPLAY The Last Airbender

WORST EYE-GOUGING MIS-USE OF 3-D The Last Airbender

WORST SEQUEL Sex And The City 2

WORST ENSEMBLE Sex And The City 2

My only objection to this line-up is the inclusion of good movies like The Killer Inside Me and Machete, although I guess I could blame Jessica Alba for this and not the Razzies. (via The Playlist)

I don’t think the Ashton Kutcher and Jessica Alba ones are fair i saw them both in Valentines Day which was not the greatest but they did what the roles called for. Also i saw Machete which i loved and i don’t really understand why it is included.

    InvaderZim!

I was highly disappointed in Machete. I expected more from Troublemaker Studios. Instead, all we got was a pro-illegal immigration propaganda film.
