Months ago, it looked like director Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl) was at the front of the horde to helm Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Then Lionsgate turned their attention to fresh brains like the team-up of author Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg, the son of some other guy named Katzenberg. Lenny Katzenberg, I think.

However, Gillespie seems to have eaten his way back to the top of the list. The rumor is that Lionsgate has told all the other potential directors "thanks, but really no thanks," and that Gillespie will soon be signed. Jane Austen but with zombies, here he comes? We'll soon find out. (Deadline)
