While a panel from a studio (in this case Warner Bros.) doesn't sound like quite the good team the more fan-friendly cast-and-crew panels are, that doesn't mean they're not fountains of info from time to time.

Earlier today, the stars of Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim came out to present the world's first taste of the film, which will also be the only footage released until the end of the year. Onhand were Ron Perlman, Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day, and the helmer himself to offer up a look at what we can expect.

Describing a clip will most likely not do the clip justice, so me paraphrasing someone else's verbal description would be downright foolish. So, rather than tell you what happens, let me just give you a few out-of-context elements to whet your appetite.

  • Tundra

  • Metal Detector

  • Robot Missing An Arm

  • Child

  • Other Synchronized Robots

  • Jets

  • "Summer 2013"

This shit sells itself.

And in case it doesn't, Charlie Day's presence should give it the push it needs.
