Comedy ‘Keeping Up With The Jonses’ Gets A Director, Close To Announcing Cast

He looks like a silkier, smoother Soderbergh.

Greg Mottola, the director who has delighted us with episodes of Freaks and Geeks and Arrested Development, as well as films like Superbad and…Paul (cue tuba), haas signed on to direct the high-profile comedy Keeping Up with the Joneses.

Despite the trite name, the premise of the film sounds pretty good. According to Deadline, “a quiet, suburban cul de sac is turned upside down when an unfulfilled married couple begins to suspect that there’s something nefarious afoot with their sexy and charismatic new neighbors.”

You had me “married couple.” Then again at “nefarious.”

The project is now conspicuously lacking a cast, but rumors have surrounded Jon Hamm and Zach Galifianakis, but I don’t think that, together, they would play the married couple. No matter how awesome that would be.
