The upcoming animated direct-to-DVD Batman movie Batman Year One should be pretty good, considering it's from Bruce Timm, the man behind the critically acclaimed "Batman" animated series. And the voice cast includes names like Bryan Cranston, Ben McKenzie, Eliza Dushku and Katee Sackhoff, which is also promising.

You can check out two new images from the movie below, both of which seem gloomy and quite reminiscent of the comic by Frank Miller. Pretty cool, right? Here's a quote from Timm about the project:
"The source material is surprisingly cinematic; it's a pretty straight forward literal retelling. Mazzucchelli's artwork is beautifully composed and we were able to refer to the comic for about 80 percent of the camera setups."
