There are plenty of reasons not to like Brett Ratner. Everything from his appearance on Entourage to his huge stockpile of incredibly shitty, but bafflingly profitable movies (X-Men 3, all of the Rush Hours) seems to scream, "I'm what makes people hate Hollywood." Well, Brett told MTV that he wants to make a Guitar Hero movie, and his proposed plot is every bit as horrific as you would think.

Here's the direct quote from the MTV article: “It could be about a kid from a small town who dreams of being a rock star and he wins the ‘Guitar Hero’ competition. One of these dreams-[come-true] kind of concepts.”

First of all, there was already a movie kind of like that and it was called The Wizard. It was terrible and kind of awesome at the same time. Plus, who the hell wins a Guitar Hero contest and becomes a rock star? I've seen people win Guitar Hero contests. After each one, the winner would yell, "Woooo! I'm a fucking rock star!" Then drink 11 more beers and puke on some chick's lap. That actually mightbe a better movie.

Hopefully he can take on God of War without screwing it up too badly, but since it is, ultimately, a video game movie, I'm going to expect it to be shitty.
