Brad Pitt, Eli Roth and B.J. Novak are Inglorious Bastards

I’ve been holding off posting about the casting news for Quintin Tarantino’s 2009 WWII epic for a couple of days because no one could actually get the story straight. But now it seems like the dust has settled a little and a few actors are left holding machine guns. Brad Pitt is now officially on-board as a "Tennessee hillbilly who assembles a team of eight Jewish-American soldiers." (according to Variety). Other confirmed actors include B.J. Novak (Ryan from The Office) and Hostel director, Eli Roth. It’s a weird line-up to say the least. There’s even rumor that Simon Pegg (Sean…of the Dead) is in talks. Combine that with the radical changes the script has gone through since Tarantino started working on it in 2001 and I honestly have no idea what to expect. There are a few things that will definitely be in there, though. Here’s a short list:

  • Close-ups of a woman’s feet
  • Liberal use of the word "Motherfucker"
  • Obscure soul music
  • Robert Rodriguez
  • A scene where the film is all scratched and looks really old
