Blake Lively Gives Up Trying To Appeal To Red State Voters

Thursday, February 17 by

Hollyweird denizen Blake Lively (the upcoming Green Lantern, The Town) has announced what her next project will be: An adaptation of the Andrea Portes novel Hick. She said ““I play a mother of a thirteen year-old…a southern woman who is also a meth addict.” If Ms. Lively cared about appealing to Real Americans she probably would have phrased that a little more softly- maybe the thirteen year-old is a “meth enthusiast” or something.

Anyway, her part was originally supposed to be played by Kirsten Dunst, but this has apparently fallen through for whatever reason. Maybe the producers decided it was time to cast someone from the current wave of superhero blockbusters, as opposed to Dunst who’s part of the old guard. (via The Playlist)

Kirsten Dunst was set to play the role of Glenda. I believe Blake Lively’s character would be Tammy, mother of Luli (Chloe Moretz).
