Adam McKay Doesn’t Want To Direct ‘Ant-Man’ Either

It was announced last week that Anchorman director Adam McKay was on the shortlist to direct Ant-Man in the wake of Edgar Wright‘s leaving the project. Now that list is even shorter as McKay removed himself from the negotiations after moving pretty far along in talks with Marvel. Citing that he’s too busy at the moment to film scenes of Paul Rudd swimming in a toilet, although he’d love to get to that should there ever be an Anchorman 3.

The shortlist also included We’re the Millers director Rawson Marshall Thurber and the just terrible Ruben Fleischer. It’s unknown if they’re still in the mix now that Marvel revealed their favorite was McKay. We will keep you posted when this important film is eventually reassigned. (THR)
