The secret to a good time is moderation. And not mixing your beer with laundry detergant. If the kids in Superbad had paced themselves a little more carefully, they could have raged into the early hours of the morning, instead of ruining comforters with vomit and giving girls black eyes.
The opening scene of All the Boys Love Mandy Lane opens with a party stunt gone awry, leading to the death of a popular jock. It’s this event that sets the rest of the film in motion. Say what you will, but my estimation of a party off the rails is when kids end up dying. This film was nearly edged out by A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge but the gritty realism of Mandy Lane proved more unsettling than teens wiped out wholesale by Freddy Krueger.
Not happy to merely throw an unadvised party while his parents are out of town, Tom Cruise‘s Joel had to take things a step further by hiring a bunch of whores and converting his house into a brothel. This results in an angry pimp stealing every wordly posession in the house. Not that anyone would want to sit on the couch ever again anyways.
