When it's too hot to stay inside, here are 10 summer films to screen outdoors. Don't know which movies to start screening? The following list of recommended films have action, adventure and romance that everybody can enjoy.

  1. The "Indiana Jones" Trilogy. Starring Harrison Ford as the adventure-seeking archeologist who travels the world trying to protect priceless historical finds from evil, greedy people, any of the three films, directed by Stephen Spielberg are perfect to screen outside. They are not only classics but feature wholesome good old fashioned fun everyone can enjoy.
  2. "Jaws" (1975). This film, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Roy Schneider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfus, is perfect to screen outdoors. This film takes place in Amity Island where one summer the island's waters are plagued by a killer shark. If it is possible to screen it by a pool, even better.
  3. "Star Wars" Saga. This "space opera" created by George Lucas takes place in a galaxy far, far away, where one man named Darth Vader will stop at nothing for inter-galactic control. Who doesn't want to see the Millennium Falcon light speed across space outside on a large movie screen underneath the stars?
  4. "Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings" (2001). J.R.R. Tolkien's classic fantasy series tells the story of a powerful ring which must be protected by the one who possesses it, a hobbit named Frodo. If the ring falls into the wrong hands, Middle Earth will be in danger.  Brought to life by director Peter Jackson, this movie is a  beautiful spectacle that will whisk you away and make you forget about the heat with its dynamic characters and magical vision of Middle Earth.

Not only is it a Pixar film that is loved by children, it is especially loved by adults. The sequence where the house lifts into the air by the balloons would be a beautiful scene to see screened outside.
