These actors and actresses have had their ups and downs through the years and come from very different backgrounds. From professional wrestling to recovering addicts, these actors come together to make a the characters of “Sherlock Holmes” come to life.

Robert Downey Jr.

Long before he joined the “Sherlock Holmes” cast as Holmes himself, he could be seen in “Weird Science” as Ian. Most recently he starred as Tony Stark in “Iron Man” and “Iron Man 2”. His television appearances include “Ally McBeal” and “Saturday Night Live”. Whether he is sober or wacked out on crack, it appears he is one talented actor.

Jude Law

His career began on television in 1989 when he starred in two made for tv movies: “The Tailor of Gloucester” and “The Ragged Child”. His big screen credits include “Cold Mountain”, “The Talented Mr. Ripley” and “Enemy at the Gates”.

Rachel McAdams

Although she landed her first role in 2001, she did have a hit until she appeared as Regina George in “Mean Girls”. Other noteworthy movies include “Wedding Crashers”, “Red Eye”, “The Notebook”, and “The Time Traveler's Wife”.

Mark Strong

Before joining the “Sherlock Holmes” cast he was best know for his roles in “Body of Lies” and “Rock N Rolla”. More recently, he could be seen as Godfrey in “Robin Hood” and as Sinestro in “Green Lantern”.

Robert Maillet

His career started as a professional wrestler before he began acting. At seven feet tall he is know in the wrestling world as the "Acadian Giant". His acting career began in 2001 when he went from body slamming opponents to learning his lines.
