Secret Messages In Disney Movies
Disney evokes an image of family fun and wholesomeness, but there are secret messages in Disney movies that might make you think differently about your favorite Disney film. Next time you are watching "The Lion King" or "The Little Mermaid" pay closer attention and you might find more than just a cute cuddly character. You might actually see a subliminal or secret message.
"The Lion King." In this Disney classic which has actually been compared to "Hamlet" and young cub thinks he is responsible for his father's death and runs away from the pride. In one scene in the movie, Simba is lying on a cliff and dust kicks up forming a cluster. If you look closely, you can see that the dust forms the word "sex." Not exactly "G" rated!
"The Little Mermaid." Rumor has it that a disgruntled Disney artist decided to go a bit too far in his depiction the King Triton's castle. If you look closely, portions of the castle are phallic in nature. A castle made of the male anatomy! Somehow we don't think Walt Disney would approve.
"The Hunchback of Notre Dame." Finally, there is a secret message that does not involve anything sexual in nature. In the scene where Quasimodo is looking down over the city and sees the townspeople walking about, you see Belle from "Beauty and the Beast" reading a book just like she does in that movie. You also see a man shaking out a carpet that looks like the magic carpet in "Aladdin."
"The Rescuers." When this movie came out on video in 1999, viewers realized that they saw a little more than they expected. In one scene, when Bernard and Bianca are riding in the sardine can, you can see there is a superimposed picture of a topless woman in the window behind them. The film was actually recalled for this reason. So here is one case where the hidden message,is, in fact, proven.
