McDowell’s – Coming To America

I know that McDowell’s is not real but it deserves preservation all the same. When shooting Coming To America, Eddie Murphy and his team chose a Wendy’s on Queens Boulevard, Queens. As we all know, Wendy’s is a place of sadness. They should remodel and install the Golden Arcs.

The Mall – Dawn of the Dead

Despite what logic dictates, the mall overrun with teeming masses of filthy corpses in Dawn of the Dead is not in Detroit. Rather, the scenes were filmed at the Monroeville Mall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The mall still stands today and is home to a Forever 21, Hollister, American Eagle Outfitters, and Saga Japanese Steak House.
