If you need a Harry Potter movies list, you’ve come to the right place. The Harry Potter films are based on seven novels by British author J. K. Rowling. The movie series features eight films, however, as Rowling’s final book was split into two separate movies.

The Harry Potter movies follow the adventures of a young wizard and his friends and teachers at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The films feature a number of interesting characters, including three major characters portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson. Here is the complete movies list, in order of film release date.

  1. “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001).” “Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone,” released in 2001, is the first movie in the series.
