Tora! Tora! Tora! tells the story of the day that will live in infamy from both the American and Japanese side. Told in a fair and balanced way, the film points out mistakes made by both sides. Another clue that it isn’t anti-Japanese propaganda, Mickey Rooney doesn’t appear in a rice paddy hat.
The multiple Academy Award winning classic tells the story of soldiers stationed on Hawaii in the months leading up to the Pearl Harbor attack. Once again, this film focuses mostly on the romances and secret affairs that happen in the lives of these men and the women they encounter. I’ve never been to Hawaii, but judging from these movies, it sounds like one huge orgy where pineapple is served. They should franchise.
