Matilda Dixon – Darkness Falls

There’s nothing worse than a woman scorned and Matilda Dixon certainly has a bone to pick. Dixon was once adored by all the children of Darkness Falls and gave them prizes when they lost a tooth. This earned her the nickname of the Tooth Fairy. After being horribly injured in a fire, she became sensitive to light and only ventured out after nightfall. Her deformity caused the town‘s parents to grow distrustful and they executed her after two children went missing. After which the children returned unharmed.

Dixon’s vengeful ghost has haunted the shadows of the town ever since, ripping the jawbones out of unlucky victims. Measure twice, cut once, townspeople. Sheesh.

The Blair Witch – The Blair Witch Project

It can be argued that The Blair Witch Project kicked off the found footage trend. Billed as an actual documentary, audiences were terrified by being shown very little. In fact, the Blair Witch herself is never actually seen on-screen. She’s terrifying enough cackling in the darkness, kicking tents and leaving bundles of hair and teeth outside her future victim’s tents.

Large Marge – Pee-wee’s Big Adventure

Large Marge’s ghost has been condemned to haunt the same stretch of road on which she died many years ago. It was the worst accident anyone had ever seen.
There was this sound, like a garbage truck dropped off the Empire State Building… And when they pulled the driver’s body from the twisted, burning wreck. It looked like this…

Though she is nice enough to pick up hitchhikers and give them a lift. So she’s not all bad. Just be sure to tell them Large Marge sent you when you get to your destination.
