I feel like the tentacles are the only thing really standing in Doctor Octopus’s way when it comes to getting this part. That and his entourage the “Big Time” Sinister Six. The Rhino is known for trashing dressing rooms.

We were all skeptical when Cate Blanchett was cast as Bob Dylan but she pulled that off. Definitely more convincing than Hayden Christensen’s portrayal of him in Factory Girl.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp excels in biopics. His performances in Ed Wood, Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, and The Astronaut’s Wife have proven that. Oh, you didn’t know that The Astronaut’s Wife was based on a true story? NASA‘s dirty little secret. Anyway, he’d grab onto this role with both hands and shake it out for all it’s worth. Plus he’s not averse to wearing pirate costumes.

Ewan McGregor

Probably the best choice on this list in my opinion. The physical resemblance is there and Ewan McGregor has disappeared into a multitude of roles ranging from action to drug movies to musicals to drama to comedy. Also considering he’s played a rock star, I’d have to say that he has the strongest resume for covering the span of Elton John’s life.
