Space. It's really, really big. So big, in fact, that hundreds of thousands of stories can take place without ever crossing paths. George Lucas' masterful "Star Wars" saga is of course the benchmark against which all other space films are evaluated. The exploits of Hans, Leia, Luke, Chewie and C3PO  have stood the test of time and often overshadow other space operas. Yet there are still some amazing movies that are set in space which deserve your attention. These five films that take place in the cold recesses of space are sure to tickle the fancy of any adoring "Star Wars" fan!

"Moon."

Directed by David Bowie's son, Duncan Jones, "Moon" is a lo-fi psychological thriller set on Earth's closest ally that features only one actor and the voice of Kevin Spacey. Taut, spooky, and filled with dread, Rockwell's performance is utterly compelling and his fall into insanity is wonderfully done. You are also left with an overwhelming feeling that the Bowie family must have made a pact with the devil to make every single person who is rewarded with their DNA sublimely gifted in some way or fashion. Well worth your time, money, and the nightmares that could easily follow.
