It seems like you can’t go a day without falling behind the recent technological advancement. Apple, Microsoft and plenty of other electronic companies are constantly falling over themselves in their attempts to outdate one another. Of course, great tales often derive from the scenarios behind their inception, and Hollywood is always looking to tell a great yarn. Here are the five best movies about the invention of products that you use.
"The Social Network"

Everyone, their mum and their dog now have Facebook accounts. Okay, it was several billion pennies, and we probably all would have done it.
"Boogie Nights"

The production of pornography is a serious process. Seriously! Mark Wahlberg’s Dirk Diggler is portrayed as the last great cinematic porn star but unfortunately the director behind his films soon starts to shoot on lower grade videotape and it cheapens his efforts. Now everyone knows the sweat, blood and toil that goes into their favourite movies.
"Flash of Genius"

Greg Kinnear’s Robert Kearns goes up against the Ford Motor Company after they steal his idea for an intermittent windshield wiper from him. Several years of court end up with Kearns pocketing millions of dollars from the manufacturer.
"The Hudsucker Proxy"

Hudsucker Industries use Tim Robbins’ Norville Barnes as a patsy to depress the company’s stock with his ridiculous ideas. But when he creates the hula-hoop it turns into a smash success and accidently saves the company.
"The Water Engine"

David Mamet’s play was adapted for a TV-movie in 1992 and starred John Mahoney, William H. Macy and Joe Mantegna as the three people who received a U.S Patent for an electrolytic carburetor. It was a pretty controversial process.
