10 Great Movies Of 2008

Sometimes it’s hard to remember just what the greatest movies of a certain year are, so here are 10 great movies of 2008.

  1. “The Dark Knight.” “The Dark Knight” starring Heath Ledger and Christian Bale is the sequel to “Batman Begins” and is definitely one of the most popular movies in 2008. As in all the “Batman” movies, Batman battles the villains who try to control Gotham City and in this particular film Batman goes up against The Joker.
  2. “Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.” From Walt Disney Pictures, the next adventure in the “Chronicles of Narnia” is “Prince Caspian” which is by far one of the most popular movies of 2008. “Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” takes us back to Narnia again. Only this time the kings and queens of Narnia are surprised when the one year they were away turns out to be 1,300 years in Narnia.
  3. “The House Bunny.” For those who like comedies, “The House Bunny” starring Anna Faris is a good one. Shelly (Anna Faris) is a Playboy bunny who is tricked into leaving the Playboy mansion. She finds a home by becoming a house mother for a failing sorority and teaches the girls how to feel good about themselves and even learns a few things about herself along the way.
  4. “Iron Man.” “Iron Man” is an Action movie starring Robert Downey Jr. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is a wealthy and intelligent man who is kidnapped in order to build a powerfu weapon which is intended to destroy the world as we know it. Instead Tony Stark builds an indestructible suit that he uses to take out the bad guys and save the world. An excellent movie from 2008.
  5. “Twilight.” “Twilight” stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as Edward and Bella. When Bella moves to Forks, Washington she discovers herself drawn to the strange and mysterious Edward Cullen. Soon she discovers the supernatural reasons involved in Edwards odd behavior. Edward is also drawn to Bella, and almost immediately to two become inseparable. “Twilight is definitely one of the most popular movies from 2008.
  6. Sex and the City.” “Sex and the City” the movie, based on the television show, stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristen Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Chris North. In Sex and the City the movie the girls living their own lives and eventually come together again. For a chick flick, this is certainly one of the most popular movies of 2008.
  7. “Mamma Mia.” Starring Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried, this is a popular 2008 movie in which Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) wants the father she has never met to give her away at her wedding. But, her mother has never told her who her father is. So Sophie embarks on a mission to find the father she has never known.
  8. “Baby Mama.” “Baby Mama” stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, from Saturday Night Live. Kate Holbrook decides to she wants a baby after years of putting it on hold for her career. When she finds out she cannot conceive she finds a surrogate mother. The surrogate is more than a little different than Kate and she finds herself homeless. Kate takes her in and the two become closer than they ever would have thought possible.
  9. “Made of Honor.” “Made of Honor” stars Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan. “Made of Honor” is the story of how a man is asked by his best friend, who he soon learns that he loves enough to do it, to be her maid of honor as she weds another man.
  10. “Ste Brothers.” “Step Brothers” stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly together again in a comedy about two grown men living at home. When their parents decide to get married both men have to get along with each other to please their parents. After surviving a lot of rivalry they become close friends, but still have a lot of growing up to do throughout the movie.
