"Blade Runner" (1982): Ridley Scott is no stranger to classic action movies (see "The Gladiator"), but his most famous movie might be "Blade Runner." "Blade Runner," based on the novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?", depicts a Los Angeles of the future. The film features all the hallmarks of a classic action movie, including evil robots, powerful corporations, and plenty of explosions.
"First Blood" (1982): Chances are pretty good that when a movie stars one of the most famous action movie stars of all time, it is going to have a shot at making the list of classic action movies. "First Blood", starring a rippled Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo, tells the story of a rogue Vietnam veteran as he does battle with dozens of guerilla fighters.
"Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981): When you think of a list of classic action movies, chances are a brown fedora makes its way into your mind. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" stars Harrison Ford (wearing his iconic brown fedora) at Indiana Jones, a rough and tough professor of archeology.

"The Matrix" (1999): The second movie starring Keanu Reeves to make the list of classic action movies, the video game-like choreography in this movie left moviegoers in awe.
"Star Wars" (1977): This classic action movie may also be the most popular movie of all time. Directed by George Lucas, "Star Wars" tells the story of Luke Skywalker, a budding Jedi Knight.
"The Dark Knight" (2008): The most recent movie to make the list of classic action movies, "The Dark Knight" gained popularity due to the fact that it was such an intelligent and well-plotted action flick.
