It wasn't too hard to put together a list of the 10 best DVD's of 2009, as we had many great blockbusters to choose from. This list has a little bit of everything.  Hopefully a few of your favorites were great enough to be on the list.

  1. "Up". Pixar hit a home run with this funny heartfelt movie about 78 year old Carl and eight year old Russell on a trip to South Africa. Carl and Russell encounter talking dogs, a rare bird, and an evil villain while on their wild adventure that will have you laughing and crying throughout the movie.
  2. "Slumdog Millionaire".  This feel good movie is about teenager Jamal Malik getting a chance to win millions on India's "Who wants to be a Millionaire?", but Jamal is later arrested and accused of cheating. While Jamal tells the story of his life, you will find yourself feeling his pain and cheering him on the rest of the way.
  3. "District 9". A star ship lands on Earth and the aliens inside are forced to live in a refugee camp, where they are mistreated by humans. But when a military operative is exposed to a strange alien chemical, his only choice of survival is to help the aliens escape. This DVD is packed with just enough action to keep the men happy and enough heartfelt drama to keep the women watching.
  4. "Star Trek". You don't have to be a "Trekkie" to enjoy this DVD! The film follows James T. Kirk's life from being born to his adventures with his USS Enterprise crew. Filled with action and an amazing cast, this is one reboot you do not want to miss.

The amazing attention to detail and complex subplots make this DVD one of the best of 2009.
  9. "The Proposal". This cute romantic comedy  is about a young assistant that agrees to marry his pushy boss to save her from being deported in exchange for a promotion. The only problem with this simple plan is that they start to fall for each other.  This DVD is perfect for a date, it has just enough romance and comedy to please both guys and girls.
  10. "I Love you, Man". Peter and Zoe are getting married, but Peter needs a best man.
