10 Best Animated Movies

Coming up with a list of only the 10 best animated movies is a difficult task. There are many very great animated films out there, many more than 10. Making a list of just 10 of them is sure to leave out some good ones and many people will be upset that their favorites were not included. So, this is a list of some of the 10 best animated movies, of all time, even though there are more that could fit into the list.

  1. The Incredibles" was, pun intended, an incredible movie. This 2004 flick gives a new look at the lives of super heroes by telling the story of an entire family of super heroes. It definitely deserves it's spot in the best animated movies.
  2. In 2001, Mike Myers made "Shrek" a household name. This fun loving ogre and his Eddie Murphy voiced side-kick Donkey are loved by adults just as much as they are by children.
  3. The cult classic "Heavy Metal" is at the top of many peoples best of animation lists. This clever, music rich, animated movie actually contains four different stories.
  4. New to the movie world just this year is another sure to be cult classic, "GR30K". This animated movie was done in the vein of "Heavy Metal", telling four different stories, all in a post apocalyptic Grand Rapids, MI. This film was made in and by and starring people from the town in which it is based.
  5. In 1988, Robert Zemeckis brought "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" to the big screen. This movie did something new at the time, blending live action with cartoons. It was funny, sexy and deserves it's place in the 10 best animated movies list.
  6. "The Nightmare Before Christmas" gave the world a new treasure from Tim Burton. This tale of Jack Skellington, the King of Halloweentown, teaches the meaning of Christmas, in an odd and twisted way.
  7. No best list of animated movies would be complete without "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut". This twisted movie length romp into the world of the kids from "South Park" takes us to a visit in Hell with Satan and Saddam Hussein. It's sick, it's funny and it deserves it's spot on this list.
  8. Recently a small robot entered the world of best animated movies, his name is "WALL-E". This romantic animation shows how far animated movies have come over the years.
  9. If a rat that loves to cook is your cup of tea then "Ratatouille" is the perfect movie. A tale as old as time that tells the story of a rat who wants to be a cook and does it. It just goes to prove that no matter who, or what you are, you can still make your dreams come true!
  10. Rounding out the list of the best animated movies is Walt Disney's "The Lion King". This story about the circle of life is a lesson in pride, sacrifice and flatulence.
