"Twilight". The 2009 DVD features an enchanting yet haunting tale about human Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). Edward doesn't have fangs, and doesn't drink human blood. They fall in love, but as always love isn't simple, especially since they are both not mortal.
"Up". A comedic animation adventure DVD that is perfect for all ages. The plot revolves around a 78-year old man named Carl who ends up teaming up with an 8-year old Wilderness Explorer named Russell to fight beasts and villains. Grumpy Carl has great wit, and balances out goofy Russell as the two go on an unexpected adventure.
"The Proposal". One of the best DVDs from 2009 stars America's sweetheart Sandra Bullock, and sexy eye candy Ryan Reynolds. Bullock plays an overworked boss whose going to be deported because of an expired VISA. She convinces her under appreciated assistant to marry her. A cute comedy that has Betty White playing Reynolds spunky grandmother, which is comedy gold.
"Coraline" The 3-D children's film seems a tad dark, but it's a great DVD for all ages. It's about a girl Coraline who finds herself feeling neglected from her over worked parents. She discovers this new world where her parents are picture perfect, bit nothing is every perfect. One of the 10 best 2009 DVDs because this movie has a great moral of how family should always be there for each other.
"The Hangover". This R-rated comedy is about four friends that go to Las Vegas for a bachelor party, and end up having a wild night by mistakenly taking drugs. The boys loose the bachelor and have to re-trace their drunken steps to find him. One of the 10 best 2009 DVDs because it can be watched more than once and still make you laugh out loud at their crazy mishaps.
"Monsters vs. Aliens". This fun computer animated family comedy is about a girl named Susan who gets clobbered by a meteor full of space gunk on her wedding day. She grows more than 40 feet tall and is captured and placed in confinement by the government with other monsters. A funny story with a good moral that you should not judge someone by their looks.
"Body Of Lies". Based on David Ignatius' 2007 novel about Roger Ferris uncovering a major terrorist leader suspected to be operating out of Jordan. The drama/thriller has exciting twists and turns throughout the entire movie, which keeps you guessing who is good and bad. One of the 10 best 2009 DVDs because it has an all star cast of Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe.
"Inglourious Basterds". This action, war movie is one of the best 2009 DVDs because of how seamlessly different stories overlap. Shosanna Dreyfus witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa, but manages to escape. Later in life she becomes the owner and operator of a cinema, the same cinema an American troop plans to assassinate Hitler and his men.
"Pineapple Express". The 2009 DVD stars Seth Rogen as lazy stoner Dale, and James Franco as drug dealer Saul. Dale witnesses a murder and goes to Saul for guidance, and the two end up running for their lives. One of the best 2009 DVDs because of the moronic situations they encounter are laugh-out-loud funny.
"My Sister's Keeper". A drama about how a families life changes once they learn their daughter Kate has leukemia. The parents conceive another child with the intent to save Kate's life. One of the 10 best 2009 DVDs because it raises moral questions of how far you'd go to save a child.
