Medieval War Movies With Hot Actresses
Are you looking for some good medieval war movies with hot actresses in them? Well, my very particular friend, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s a list of medieval war and action movies that happen to have some very hot actresses in them.
“Braveheart” Ah yes, this film of medieval Scottish rebel William Wallace provides plenty of gore and great fighting scenes. This is back when Mel Gibson hadn’t gone off the deep end, so enjoy some fine acting from Mel. Sophie Marceau as Princess Isabelle provides the female hotness with one of the most beautifully angelic faces you will ever see.
“Kingdom of Heaven” This Crusades-era tale stars Orlando Bloom as a blacksmith who feels a calling to fight for the glory of God. Director Ridley Scott knows how to blow things up and stage fight scenes on an epic scale, and he doesn’t disappoint here. The gorgeous Eva Green plays Bloom’s love interest.
“Beowulf” We should all be familiar with Beowulf from high school required reading, so the tale of the troll Grendel wreaking havoc in 6th century Denmark should be familiar. What’s different about this movie is that it’s all in CGI. Now for the good part: Angelina Jolie plays Grendel’s mother, a golden seductress shapeshifting half-lizard covered in strategically-placed golden skin. Can a CGI woman be hot? Heck yes if it’s an eerily accurate representation of a mostly naked Angelina Jolie.
“King Arthur” This is another tale that we should all be familiar with about King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Here Clive Owen stars as Arthur, a Roman cavalry officer with Celtic blood. The extremely hot Keira Knightley is Guinevere, a badass bow-and-arrow wielding Celtic warrioress whose skimpy battle outfit will leave you drooling.
“The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc” Milla Jovovich, onl 24 when this movie came out, stars as the famous French heroine and religious martyr. Jovovich, a former model known best for the “Resident Evil” movies, has been referred to as the “reigning queen of kick-butt,” and she certainly displays that here.
“First Knight” Here we have another Arthurian tale, but this time Arthur is played by Sean Connery while Lancelot is portrayed by Richard Gere. Julia Ormond, as Guinevere, provides the female hotness as the beauty torn between the love of Arthur and Lancelot. Oh, there’s plenty of action, so no need to worry about that.
“A Knight’s Tale” The late Heath Ledger stars as William Thatcher, a commoner who gets a forged identity as a nobleman so he can take part in a jousting tournament. Shannyn Sossamon (who looks a lot like Angelina Jolie) co-stars as the hot princess who catches his fancy. The jousting scenes are terrifically done and the movie combines old with new as the film is littered with 1970's rock anthems to get you pumped up.
“Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” Kevin Costner can’t do an English accent for crap in this movie, but this playful adaptation of the Robin Hood tale has plenty of action and humor. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, as a very sexy Maid Marian, is Costner’s love interest. Watch the arrows fly in this underrated movie.
“The Three Musketeers” Young bearded versions of Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland and Oliver Platt play the Musketeers in this comic adventure and a baby-faced Chris O'Donnell is the wannabe fourth Musketeer, D'Artagnan. The babe factor is supplied by Rebecca De Mornay as Countess D’Winter and Gabrielle Anwar as Queen Anne
“The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” Yes, technically this isn’t a medieval-era film as it is complete fiction, but it has every element that you’d find in real, historical medieval history. You have battle scenes galore and Liv Tyler as Arwen and Cate Blanchett as Galadriel are stunning. This one’s a classic; go watch it now.
