When you are in the mood to watch a fantasy movie, learn about movies about time travel to give you a look into another dimension. Some of these time travel movies are years old and they stand up to the test of time. Others are recent movies that are sure to become classics. Watching movies about time travel is a great way to escape and see what might have been.

  1. "17 Again." "17 Again" is a 2009 movie billed as a comedy, drama, fantasy. Zac Efron plays the teenaged version of the character Mike O'Donnell. Matthew Perry plays the adult version of Mike's character. When things go south in Mike's marriage to his high school sweetheart, he travels in time to be a teenager in present day. He attends school with his own children and the tension between him and his wife is interesting to watch.
  2. "Back to the Future." "Back to the Future" is a 1985 movie that is billed as an adventure, family, science fiction movie. Michael J. Fox plays Marty McFly, a teenager who travels back in time to when his parents were teenagers. While he's there, he fixes a few things. Then he travels back to the future.
  3. "Heart and Souls." In this 1993 comedy, drama, fantasy movie, Robert Downey Jr. and Elizabeth Shue star along with Charles Grodin, Alfre Woodard, and Kyra Sedgwick. "Heart and Souls" is the journey of Thomas and the childhood angels who protected him as a child. As he travels back to in time to help out the angels, he learns about himself.
  4. "Peggy Sue Got Married." In this 1986 comedy, drama, fantasy movie, time travel involves a woman traveling through time. Kathleen Turner as Peggy Sue and Nicholas Cage as her husband star. Peggy Sue attends her twenty-fifth class reunion where she faints and travels back in time to her teenage years before she graduated from high school.
  5. "The Time Traveler's Wife." "The Time Traveler's Wife" is a 2009 romantic drama movie about time time travel is based on the book by the same name by Audrey Niffenegger. Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams star as Henry and Clare. Henry can travel through time, forward, backward and at different ages. Clare patiently waits for him as a child then later as his wife, while he travels through time.
