"Rosemary's Baby" (1968). This horror film touches on one of the greatest fears of most people; Satan. A pregnant young woman, who becomes uneasy about her eccentric neighbors' kindness towards her, soon comes to realize she is carrying the child of the devil.
"The Abominable Dr. Phibes" (1971). This horror movie is about revenge. After being severely deformed in and accident, a man wears a mask of a normal face, and exacts revenge on those responsible for the death of his beloved wife.
"The Exorcist" (1973). This is one of the greatest horror movies of all time. The story follows a twelve year old girl who is possessed by the devil and his legion of demons.
"Jaws" (1975). This horror movie pits humans against nature. The story follows a huge and aggressive great white shark that is terrorizing a small resort town by eating anything that comes into the water.
"Alien" (1979). In this horror film, astronauts become prey in outer space. After coming out of hibernation and answering a distress call, the crew of a ship find themselves face-to-face with an alien killing machine.
"Hellraiser" (1987). This is a supernatural/horror movie. The story follows a man who buys a tiny puzzle box in search of a great sensual experience, but when opened, it unleashes a hellish experience.
"The Serpent And The Rainbow" (1987). This horror movie was loosely based on a true story. A Harvard researcher who is sent to Haiti to research a possible new anesthetic, finds himself at the mercy of a Voodoo priest who turns him into a zombie.
"Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1992). This horror movie depicts the great Dracula in a different light. In this story, Dracula pierces the necks of his victims not for blood, but as means to avenge the death of his beloved wife.
"Saw" (2004). This is a psychological/horror movie. The story follows the victims of a serial killer who's objective is to test them by forcing them to make life or death decisions as way to help them appreciate living.
