Home Alone Quotes

"Home Alone" was one of the biggest hits of the 1990s and, as a result, there are many memorable "Home Alone" quotes. The film made a child star out of Macaulay Culkin, who played ten-year-old Kevin McCallister who was mistakenly left by his family as they go on vacation. He has all the fun a kid could have left by himself but finds himself having to defend his house from the inept Wet Bandits Harry and Marv played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern respectively. Here are some of the more memorable "Home Alone" quotes.

  1. "This is my house. I have to defend it." This comes from Kevin as he prepares to face the Wet Bandits with a series of Rube Goldberg-esque traps. This is funny and memorable among "Home Alone" quotes because it sounds like the one-line speech of an action hero but comes from the mouth of a ten-year-old kid.
  2. "You're afraid of the dark too, Marv." This is spoken by Joe Pesci's character to the more bumbling Marv when he suggests they kill the lights in the house to scare Kevin because "kids are scared of the dark." This line shows their ineptitude and is another more memorable "Home Alone" quotes.
  3. "Kevin, you're such a disease." This was one of the more memorable "Home Alone" quotes spoken by one of the secondary characters, Kevin's brother Jeff. It's lines like this that lead Kevin to wish he lived alone and he gets his wish the next day when his parents forget him when leaving for the airport. It's a perfect quote for a snotty kid to say and surely many parents had to hear it over and over while taking their kids to see this film.
  4. "All the great ones leave their mark. We're the Wet Bandits!" Marv says this after leaving the water running after burglarizing a home, much to Harry's chagrin. From then on in the film, the name sticks.
  5. "No clothes on anybody. Sickening." Kevin says this after finding his older brother's "Playboy" magazine. This quote is a little joke for the parents having to take their kids to the movie, especially with the precociously way Kevin says it. While most of the "Home Alone" quotes were laughs for kids, the filmmakers knew to throw the adults in the audience a bone every now and again.

The film is full of many memorable "Home Alone" quotes, but the above quotes were some of the best. To fully enjoy "Home Alone" quotes, watch the movie with the kids preferably around Christmas.
