Funny Kids’ Movies

There are so many funny kids movies out there that it can be hard to find the hidden gems. From classics like Home Alone and Homeward Bound, to newer favorites like Monsters vs Aliens, this list contains movies that will have the entire family laughing throughout.

  1. "Home Alone" (1990). An old classic that both parents and kids find hilarious. Macaulay Culkin is wonderful as the obnoxious but lovable Kevin McCallister. Stuck home alone when his family accidentally leaves for a Paris vacation, Kevin gets into lots of fun and mischief. But when two robbers try to break into his house on Christmas Eve, Kevin has more than a few tricks and booby traps waiting for them.
  2. "Shrek" (2004). Another great funny kid movie that both adults and kids will enjoy. Some of the humor in Shrek is geared to adults. Shrek is an ogre who wants nothing more than his beloved swamp back. Between the crazy donkey and the personal hygiene habits of an ogre, child will laugh throughout Shrek.
  3. "Hoodwinked!" (2005). A clever remake of the Littl Red Riding Hood story, this movie is hilarious. The Goody Bandit has stolen candy recipes from all the baked good stops. The police question Little Red, the Wolf, the Woodsman, and Granny. With funny accents, clever dialogue, this movie is an original, and good, clean, wholesome fun.
  4. "Monsters vs Aliens" (2009). Monsters vs Aliens is an entertaining film. Like Shrek, some of the sarcastic lines are geared more to adults, making this another funny kids movies that adults will enjoy as well. The government has rounded up monsters over the years. When aliens come to Earth wanting to destroy it, the President asks the monsters to save them all.
  5. "Ice Age" (2002). Children will love the antics of Scrat as he chases an elusive acorn. The wacky characters make for an avalanche of laughs.
  6. "Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit" (2005). Yet another movie that will have parents laughing along with their children. There are many hidden gems within Wallace & Gromit, be sure to pay attention to the books onscreen, as they deliver hilarious puns. A hilarious stop-motion movie.
  7. "G-Force" (2009). A movie about secret agent guinea pigs is sure to be a hit with the kids. Fast paced with cartoonish action, kids will enjoy the lovable guinea pigs and laugh as they fight an evil billionaire.
  8. "Alvin and the Chipmunks" (2007). Who doesn't love Alvin, Simon, and Theodore? These lovable, singing chipmunks have been around for ages, and now this film introduces them to a new generation. With many laughs, the comedy in this film sets it apart from the other cartoon remakes like Garfield and Scooby Doo.
  9. "Kung Fu Panda" (2008). Po is a large panda who wants to become a Kung Fu Master. The movie is his journey to become Dragon Warrior, and the process is great fun. The laughs last the entire movie.
  10. "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey" (1993). This movie is perfect for animal lovers. With great characters, the story follows two dogs and a cat as they travel across America to go home. A beautiful film, it will make you both laugh and cry.
